As an Accountant at Vertin, you have the unique opportunity to be a part of our Funeral Home Success Team, providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization.  Primarily, you will work with funeral home locations and the Account Team to ensure accuracy of revenue and call volume.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensure the accurate recording of sales and cost of sales in the point-of-sale system and reconcile to the ERP system.
  • Integrate and post sales and payment data from point-of-sale system into ERP system.
  • Reconcile cash advance activity.
  • Review monthly call volume.
  • Verify taxable items on contracts and sales tax amounts.

Experience you need to bring:

  • Strong communication skills, customer service minded.
  • 2+ years’ experience as an Accountant.
  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong and precise attention to detail.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is a plus! 

Educational Requirements:

  • Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred.
