POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager, Information Systems is an individual contributor role, which is responsible for the strategy, management, and execution of IT infrastructure and projects for the Vertin Company in collaboration with our 3rd party provider. Working with our partner, this role will develop and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of Vertin’s strategic objectives and mission.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee all technology operations (e.g., network security) and evaluate them according to established performance metrics and in consultation and collaboration with our technology provider.
- Analyze the business requirements of all locations and support departments to determine their technology needs.
- Create and manage the IT strategic road map, annual budget, and annual operating plan for Vertin.
- Develop and manage any IT-related projects required to support Vertin’s IT journey.
- Develop and implement IT policies and systems to support Vertin’s strategic objectives and mission.
- Manage the implementation process for new software and hardware.
- Identify and eliminate security vulnerabilities with strategic solutions that increase data security.
- Serve as the primary representative for Vertin within key software vendor relationships such as Passare, MemoryShare, Tukios.
- Be the primary liaison between the Vertin team and our technology provider for managing issues related to new technology implementation, support issues, and training requirements.
- Work with our technology partner’s support team and the Vertin learning and management team to develop training to enhance our use of selected systems and increase our IT effectiveness.
- Collaborate with our technology partner to evaluate, specify, and approve all equipment and software purchases for use within Vertin locations.
- Collaborate with our technology partner to identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems, new technology solutions and report and make recommendations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The role will initially have no direct supervisory responsibilities. This role will however be responsible to service as the liaison and primary point of contact with our 3rd party technology provider, Digital Guru. Additionally, from time to time this role will lead cross-functional teams on specific IT-related projects.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) from a college or university in a related field. Ten or more years related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis information technology within a professional setting, where direct oversight/management of others in IT roles was performed.

- Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications.
- Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
- Experience in controlling information technology budget.

- Experience in a multi-entity organization across a broad geography.
- Proven experience in the development of processes and standard work.

WORK CONDITIONS, TRAVEL, AND ENVIRONMENT
This position will spend time in a professional office setting with moderate noise while sitting at a computer for extended periods of time. This position may be required to travel to locations, Vertin meetings, and conferences approximately 25% of the time. The position will work normal business hours however may need to work early mornings, evening and/or weekends to ensure goals are met.
