Who We Are
At Vertin, we believe people matter most. When you join us, you become part of a community that values compassion, growth, and purpose. Our associates have the autonomy to serve families in meaningful ways, with the support of shared resources, caring leadership, and benefits that reflect how much we value their work. Here, your story becomes part of our legacy.

At Vertin, people matter most. Our collaborative network and Shared Services support enable associates to focus on what they do best, resulting in the highest levels of compassionate care for families. While our funeral home locations are entrusted to serve their own communities in meaningful ways, we are also woven together with the same threads and driven by a shared mission. Together, our legacy grows.
Kasie, Location Manager
"What I especially love is that Vertin intentionally included caregivers in their mission statement, showing how much they value their associates. Each person I have connected with in the organization has helped guide and inspire me in some way."
How We Got Here
THEN - With a deep desire to provide professional, personalized service for families in their greatest time of need, Joseph Vertin, Sr., founded Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge, Minnesota, in 1904. His son, Joe, became widely respected for business knowledge, but Joe’s primary concern remained offering the very best care for the members of his community.

NOW - Since then, ownership has passed to Joe’s son, Tom, and Vertin has become one of the largest privately held, family-owned funeral home companies in the Midwest. Vertin is known for upholding the highest standards of integrity and maintaining an unwavering commitment to local communities. With Shared Services teams providing comprehensive behind-the-scenes support, associates can focus on what matters most: caring for families.
Our Brands
Vertin currently operates across eight states, tailoring our approach to the unique needs of funeral home locations in major, middle, and small communities. Our ability to share resources provides consistent support to our teams across the region, and we are always interested in exploring geographical expansion opportunities.
