Your License goes where you're needed most.
As a Vertin Traveling Funeral Director, you'll serve families across our locations, build new skills, and meet teams throughout the Vertin network. Join the most innovative team in funeral service.
Set your sights on something bigger with Vertin
We've always known our teams are strongest when they have real support behind them. That's why we built a role around the well-being of the teams who give so much every day. Our Travelers have hearts for service, and they answer the call in whatever community it comes from.
This is a rare opportunity to take your calling on the road and support families across the country. Every assignment brings a new team, a new place, and a new chance to do this work well.
Every destination holds a story. Yours starts on the road.
Build a distinct set of skills
01
Problem Solving
Every location runs a little differently. Travelers read a new situation quickly and find the path that serves the family in front of them.
02
Build Trust, Fast
You learn how to get up to speed fast — new teams, new facilities, new systems — and make yourself useful from the first day.
03
Growth in Motion
Working across our network exposes you to more traditions, more approaches, and more mentors than any single location can offer.
04
Adaptability
Different communities, different expectations, same standard of care. Travelers carry that standard wherever they go.

Why Travelers say yes
1
Explore new places, teams, and facilities across the Vertin family.
2
Enjoy a more flexible schedule and additional time off.
3
Build a distinct set of skills and open new paths for professional growth.
4
Get a genuine feel for a location before deciding whether to put down roots.
5
Do everything a location funeral director does, arrangements, services, care for the deceased, just in a different place each rotation.
A schedule built around your life
Most Travelers say it is the best schedule they have ever experienced. You know your rotation well in advance, and PTO comes on top of your days off.
You also work with locations you trust, the same teams, again and again, so every arrival feels less like a first day and more like a reunion.

What our Travelers find between assignments
"Being a traveling funeral director has exposed me to many new experiences and places. Not only am I able to continue my passion in helping families, but I have found so much reward in helping provide relief to funeral directors to help create a healthy work life balance. I’ve been able to work alongside many directors, participate in different community events, and expand my knowledge in funeral service. The traveling program is a unique way to help provide relief to our industry as funeral professionals."

Questions
Travelers ask first
Still wondering about something? Reach out and we will answer it directly.
Where would I be based?
You keep your home. Travelers live where they live and go out on assignment from there, you are not asked to relocate.
How does the schedule work?
Travelers work a set rotation of days on and days off, scheduled well in advance so you always know what's coming. Rotations vary by assignment — your recruiter can walk you through the options. PTO is separate from your days off.
Who pays for travel and lodging?
Vertin does. Travel, lodging, and assignment expenses are covered.
Do I need a Minnesota license?
Minnesota is a core state in our network, so eligibility for MN licensure is required for all Travelers, and we pay for it if you need it. From there, we'll help you get licensed in any other state your assignments call for, at no cost to you.
Do I choose where I go?
Assignments go where the need is greatest, so you won't choose the location yourself. What you will get: advance notice, a say in the conversation, and, for most Travelers, a familiar rotation of locations rather than something new every time.
Will I be a full-time associate?
Yes, and then some. This is full-time work with full benefits, plus a built-in way to explore different locations before deciding if you want to put down roots.
